Alvin L. Sermons, M.D., RPh is a South Georgia native and has been in private practice for over 20 years as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist in the Atlanta area. Dr. Sermons received his B.S. from Valdosta State University in Business, completed a Master’s in Pharmacy, including post graduate research from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where he also completed his residency. Additionally, he is a registered Pharmacist in Georgia and Florida. Dr. Sermons is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of numerous medical societies such as the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, where he sits on its Executive Board. He is also a member of the Atlanta OB/GYN Society, the Atlanta Medical Association, the Medical Association of Atlanta, the Medical Association of Georgia and the National Medical Association.
Dr. Sermons always dreamed of a lifetime of helping people. When asked why he has stayed in a solo-practitioner setting for so long he stated “Economies of scale are important, especially in today’s medical environment. However, I’ve always wanted to provide my patients with state of the art, modern technology while continuing to provide them with the feeling of forgone days of house calls, good bedside manner and personalized care.”
